Apparently Peavey thought I asked him to list random shit news clients
for Linux...which are only in use by like...less than 2% of teh Usenet
populous. LOL
BTW, I thought you had to use the "-" key in order to flip to fixed
width in SLRN?

To quote Robert for a moment:
"The only reason fixed width fonts were ever popular in days gone by
was that most monitors of that era *couldn't* display anything else,
period. As for ASCII art, it has been ages since I have seen that
posted. I also see very little people using underlining today.
Probably because most people using fixed width fonts realize that this
ain't gonna work for a large percentage of the target audience in the
year 2000. Same logic why those of us with a clue don't post
in HTML: we realize there are many news readers out there that can't
handle it, so we avoid it even though our news readers are able to
post using it. Underlining on Usenet is about as clueless, as the
majority of users are using proportional fonts in the year 2000. The
idea isn't to make posts look good on the posters screen, but on the
screens of those who read his posts."
Go run off to alt.config and argue with them about it, Peavey. Tell
them all about how you've "won the Usenet", LOL.
