Could you try next thing: 
 
cd C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.0\bin 
mysql -h localhost -u root -p 
 
use mindb 
 
GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'ODBC'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'yourpass' WITH GRANT OPTION;
