htaccess, shmaccess! It has given me a headache.
For now, I have implemented a simple solution with not much of a
downside (for what I want). Why didn't I think of it before? I have
just put an index file with a notice to say the directory listing is
denied at the levels I want. Yes, this means people need a specific url
to a file in these cases. But that is fine. I do this a lot, when
things overpower my brain, I go primitive... :-)
[I am posting from Google - sorry Blinkey - because it is too much
trouble finding things in MT-Newswatcher that are no longer currently
talked about. I wonder if there is a way to look at Google, find the
thread and go back and use the MT to continue the thread without losing
the right headers and all that super scientific stuff so that it looks
like a "natural" reply to the post. Probably too much trouble. I am
also wondering if these remarks are any kind of deeper OT to the thread
heading that was originally so shameleessly veered off]
