Because other people hate it, is indeed no reason for you not to do it.
The reasons why you should not do it (generally; there are exceptions,
such as setting up a page to amuse your four-year-old child) include
that it is rude to people who are already listening to something else,
or trying to be quiet, and discriminatory to those whose disabilities
mean, for instance, that they use a text reader.
