....I think I truly peaked on that one, I got like either ZERO input or
shrugs all around from more than TWO DOZEN different communities that
I posted the questions to. At best I got someone who posted a link to
some other d00ds cookie cutter code, but even that guy didn't have any
clue as to the best means of achieving the end result, he only tried
the one way, found that it worked and then stuck with it.
My way works better than his:

It uses PHP post variables...however I'm sure there's a faster method
of pulling it off. Especially on the Flash end of things. At first
the script kept timing out because there was too much data to process,
having to use getPixel on each pixel to extract all the color codes
into a variable. So then I spanned the code out into 10 different
sprites and then divided up each line of pixels into a single frame.
That's also how I was able to create the progress bar. I'm bettin
though that there's a better/easier/faster way of achieving the
task...like I'm wondering if I can take the data straight from a
copyPixels function and simply run the calculations from there to get
the color codes, rather than having to run the stupid getPixel
function on EVERY freakin pixel.
