You may as well give up. You're really not going to "win." He'll keep
posting, insulting you, and whatnot. And at the end, you'll either
obsess over him, hating his guts to the point that you go bonkers, buy
an uzzi and stalk his crib, or you'll give in and be his friend.
I chose option "B." And I've actually never regretted it. We all have
friends that are a bit . . . different or eccentric. And Hat, as
eccentric as he is, is actually quite intelligent (even if he sometimes
misuses his "powers") and funny. And he WILL help you out with shit you
need help on.
He sure did me, and I was WAY more pissed than you are now. : )
But FTR, if you get this worked up over Hat, then you're in for a bumpy
ride on usenet, cause, really, Hat's just the tip of the iceberg. If
you let Hat get you so worked up, you'll be food for every single troll
in existence. They'll hear about you and want to fuck with you just
cause you're "there" and an easy mark.
Just a word of warning - I felt it's only right to warn you, since,
about a year ago or so, I was JUST like you. : ) And sometimes, those
lessons are hard to learn.
