$isNull = ($myObj === null) ? true : false;
== asserts A has the same value as B (implicit cast if required/possible)
=== asserts A has the same type and value as B (no cast)
$A = true;
$B = 1;
if ($A == $B) => true;
if ($A === $B) => false;
