There's more to it than just the page width, fixed or not. I'm sure
you've seen sites that were constructed by absolutely positioning
everything, or setting fixed height *and* width dimensions. Any
variation in the visitor's text size, or even their available fonts, and
you can end up with overlapping elements all over the place, making it
unusable. That's the kind of design flaw I'm referring to.
A design shouldn't break if the user zooms text, fixed width or not.
