This should have been detailed on
ms-help://MS.SQLCC.v9/MS.SQLSVR.v9.en/instsql9/html/702359c4-6ca9-42a8-860c-a95a802898a1.htm
in Books Online. However, I can't find a final word on this. It says that
you cannot upgrade from SQL 2000 32-bit to SQL 2000 x64.

But in lieu of the affirmative, my answer has to be no.

However, you can always move databases with backup/restore or detach/attach
from x86 to x64.
