Use of overflow: hidden; on nested divs

Posted by Richard Rundle on 12/18/05 14:04

On one of my pages,

http://www.fchd.btinternet.co.uk/cups/favase1974-75.htm

I'm using overflow: hidden to keep the desired presentation of the content
of div's in two columns within another div. I started putting this together
some time ago, so I can't remember where I got that idea from. It certainly
came from somewhere else, I wouldn't have thought of that myself.

My question is, is that a "proper" use of the overflow property, and if not,
are there any suggestions to re-code appropriately? The basic HTML
validates, and I think I've used the HTML elements in their correct semantic
manner (most of the time anyway!)
