I had the same problem when I first started getting into web design.
There are *tons* of HTML tutorials on the internet, but very few
explain how to actually get a domain name and hosting. If they do,
they might just say that you need to get your content hosted on a
server and then register a domain name for it, but that doesn't help
you if you don't know what a server, hosting, or a domain name is. At
one point, I registered a domain name but I didn't realize that I would
have to buy hosting separately. So I had registered the domain name,
and then I spent hours browsing the domain name registration site just
trying to find out how to actually post my HTML code. I ended up
having the domain name registered for about 6 months without any
content on it. It felt really stupid once I finally got it running and
realized how simple it all was, but all I needed was for someone to
explain the terminology.

So anyway, heres a good tutorial that will explain how to actually get
your web site on the internet and all of the terminology that you'll
run into:
