Okay, it's been altered again. I added a volume icon and when you
click it, it mutes (I might add an "x" overlay too). I also altered
the volume control like Mimic suggested, but I'm not completely sure
if I like that, it creates a bit of a weird effect if you drag your
mouse off to the side and then let go, then it's like the controller
continues to drag until you put the mouse back over the control and
click...weird.
I also rewrote the volume functions from scratch, I was using this
prefab one that someone else made and I was looking at it and suddenly
thought to myself, "What the hell are they doing?" They had the thing
as like a button, encapsulated into a sprite, with it's own fucking
frame controls fer keerist sake. So I just got rid of all that and
simplified the whole operation, now it's just a single image with an
ondrag event and the primary onEnterFrame function now handles
altering the global volume and so forth, much neater, much more stream
lined.
Oh, I also found another bug (it might just be in SwishMax). If you
set an image to "no smoothing", well for some reason if you set the
image up with an ondrag event as soon as you click and drag it for the
first time it magically forgets it's setting and defaults to
smoothing...which is REALLY fucking annoying and so now the control
doesn't look as good as it could (with precision cut images with a
specific layout smoothing is just generally a bad idea). Oh well,
maybe by Flash 9/10 they'll have this shit finally sorted out.
