Don't bother using session_register(), session_is_registered(), etc. Use
$_SESSION, as recommended by the manual (assuming you have PHP 4.0.6+)
e.g.
<?php
session_start();
if (!isset($_SESSION["key"]))
{
...
$_SESSION["key"] = $var;
}
?>
