Hi,
function is_null give true when $_POST['helper1_pos'] = NULL.
You must understand NULL is not ''.
use function empty()
if (empty($_POST['helper1_pos'])) {
echo "Sorry! Helper 1 position already volunteered.";
exit;
}
else {
//update
}
