Hence the main point of the redesign, it's now a lot easier for me to
add content (it'll be even easier when I get around to puttin in the
scrollbar).

Well, the blog topic is basically "Onideus Mad Hatter", my net
persona, which includes things I like. For some reason, people REALLY
enjoy looking at the things I enjoy and a lot of the little things I
make, that's why out of my entire server, this is my most popular
directory:
http://www.backwater-productions.net/brklnk
So basically the blog is going to be taking a lot of the content that
you'll find on that link and putting it into the pretty 3D interface.
It wouldn't make a lot of sense to do live video stuff, since the blog
isn't about Matthew Moulton, it's about Onideus Mad Hatter and things
related to the Internet and mainstream media.
Part of the fun of the blog is never knowing what you're going to find
next. I might throw in a random clip from Fritz The Cat, or suddenly
I might have a new AMV in there, a really funny clip off the Daily
Show perhaps, you just never know. It's very much about exposing
people to forms of media that perhaps they've never seen or haven't
seen in the way that I'm presenting it and for others, who have seen
it, it's a fun spot of nostalgia.
It definitely is NOT a blog in the traditional sense, because really,
if I had just wanted that I could have simply signed up for an account
on blogger.com and called it good. That's also probably why I WON'T
include an RSS feed for the text content, because really, it's my blog
and I want people to come to MY server to view the content and I want
that content presented in a very particular way that reflects my
artistic side. Does that limit portability and audience? Perhaps,
but then the demand of what you're offering plays a big part in that.
I mean if all you're offering is third rate commentary on the news or
whatever, then yeah, you need all the portability you can get for your
content, you NEED people to respond to it, to create discussion, etc,
etc...because otherwise you just don't have something that people
REALLY want to seek out.
