From a hastily look on the code, I didn't notice anything that really should
generate duplicates, but then in the first place I wouldn't have written the
code the way the original author has chosen to use, the code can be simplified
a lot and make it a lot easier to see problems.

I hope things will get solved and you get it to work by your liking.
