This one is driving me crazy...

For a translation company that needs instant online quote...

I like the user to upload a file to the server, open the file on the
server and do a word count on it, multiply this value with the "cost per
word" and have the price to echo back to the browser.

Everything works fine with a .txt file but when I upload a MSword
document it counts also the "M$word specific markup".
Is there any logic in there on how to cut this markup crap out of my
string before calculating the price?
BTW, OpenOffice is easy on this, everything nicely saved as xml.

Anyone?
