That is what I meant by a virtual machine (like, using VMWare perhaps). That is going to
ridiculous extremes though.

Heck yeah. Much more options this way than the other. Plus, you can manipulate XML, CSV
or whatever ASCII-based. A whole lot of trouble just to appease a few DOC junkies. And
of course like you mentioned the OST (or OSx) of OpenOffice.org.

With that many good, open-source options, screw Windows (and I say this, coming from a
Windows-primarily background).
