though it copes OK with the link removed::

The RSPB have launched &lsquo;Birds Near You&rsquo; in

or withe th quotes inside teh link:

The RSPB have launched <a href="diary/BNY.htm"
title="[...]">&lsquo;Birds Near You&rsquo;</a> in


It also pronounces full stops at the ends of links:

<a href="foo">link</a>.

as:

link dot

It also has a lot of fun with "Warwickshire" ;-)
