Hello, I just finished installing MS SQL 2000 (w/ latest SP) on a
brand spankin new w2k3 server.
I am having a wierd issue though.
I installed a certificate for the server (using the right DN)... I
used www.godaddy.com to get the cert.
but my issue is, we need all communication to be encrypted.
So I enabled "force protocol encryption" through "sql server
network utility" on the db server.
Now users can login and have all there transmission encrypted.. This
works fine.. but what doesnt work is when the client computer checks
"Use strong data encryption when making an ODBC.
If a user does that.. (using a network sniffer, I see 8x duplicate
traffic... maybe more.. but basically around 110packets), the user
gets:
----
Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver Version 03.85.1117
Running connectivity tests...
Attempting connection
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][TCP/IP Sockets]SSL Security error
Disconnecting from server
TESTS FAILED!
---
and the above is outputted after ~20seconds of the program stalling
that is trying to make an ODBC.
thanks for any help!
