Sorry if this is an old one. I've been searching on the web to see if
it's possible to centre layers and can't find a definitive answer.

I have created a site using layers which at 1024 x 768 screen
resolution sits nicely in the middle of the screen. Change to a higher
screen resolution and there's more white space to the right. I
understand why this is happening, but don't know if there's any way to
centre the design using one large, single container layer? The result
needs to be compatible with both IE and Firefox.
