Thank you so much. Lots of useful information. And I appreciate the
empathy. I guess the somewhat looseness of php is both useful and a
source of frustration.

I now get what you were doing with the $q[] array. I realized after I
had sent the last email that I hadn't noticed carefully the position of
the "" in that statement.

I'm going to have to think through the true/false stuff to get it
straight in my mind. May have some more questions.

I continue to be impressed by the elegance of that code snippet and how
much I have learned from it.
