The Egyptian government itself uses the term "kosher" to recommend html and
css standards. All part of the peace deal after Sadat famously went over to
the Israeli parliament. It was deemed to promote understanding between the
two countries. For many years it so irritated the Egyptian bureaucracy that
they deliberately over-used tables and delighted in the center tag. Things
calmed down somewhat for a while but flared up again during the recent
Intifada in Palestine. This is the reason that while Egyptian food has
always been quite wonderful, their website activities have sometimes been
among the worst in the world.
