You could try the chmod command, but I'm not sure how it would work on
Windoze. I work with UNIX-based machines personally. You could try this
perhaps, but I don't even know if Windows will comprehend it.

chmod($file,0666) || die('Could not alter file perms.');
else die('file does not exist in '.getcwd());
