Try:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>


Maybe you didn't enable short open tags on your server.
(Check this by viewing the source from that page, it would read excactly:
<?
phpinfo();
?>
which displays nothing in a browser, since it looks just like an (unknown)
tag.
