.... just use a fancy doodle dandy include for my raves then -
you'r the expert. I will put them in a central deposit. That
might fool the stats... I thought stats for these things was an
alt.html thing (I never take any notice of them except that old
TI publishes them ... for one reason and only one reason of
course: to embarrass the hell out of a simple martian)

No, I am interested in navigation menus too... Joe, I am more
ambitious than Rupert Murdoch. Don't underestimate my ambition,
eye for water savings and knowledge of shaving techniques for
both men and women. You can never underestimate my ability,
arrogance, nuisance value, vanity, attention-seeking behaviour
and more. All this is not my fault, honest, all programmed into
me by my minders back on Mars. They think it will make me seem
more human. They don't know much. That's why I am here, to send
back reports. You get a mention. I refer to you as Farmer Joe,
hope that is ok?

On one of the servers for websites I do, I wrote this in an
..htaccess file:

AddType application/x-httpd-php .html

and this, pleasingly lets all my html files have php includes and
reads them right if I have the footer.txt in the same directory
and say 'footer.txt' in the include or even in a lower directory
called "includes" and refer to the file as 'includes/footer.txt'

But buggered if I can get a way of just saying 'footer.txt' in
the include and something in the .htaccess to tell the server to
always go look in the includes folder for include files. I have
tried all sorts of things! I am bloody determined to work it out
or find out without asking the server people!

I have tried things like this as an extra line in the .htaccess:

php_value include_path
/home/theDomainNameHere/public_html/includes

but it seems to ignore this line or the line is wrong...

ho hum...

Truth is that I need my experiments to be solid and working
before I let loose on rather a big site I made and maintain that
runs for hundreds of pages and where includes will really come
into their own big time.
