Then why do you think the First Amendment will protect sites that you
host on a server outside the United States? Or, on the other hand, if
you're convinced that your sites would be covered by the First
Amendment, why *aren't* you planning to host them in the US?

An incorrect example. Just recently all Internet gambling by individuals
in the United States using foreign websites has been banned by law. If
you're sitting at a keyboard in the US, your activity is taking place in
the US, and is therefore subject to US law. There isn't anything new
about US regulation in this area: it has been illegal for decades for
people in the United States to participate in foreign lotteries via mail
or phone.
