I would love to give some feedback, but I am not running Mac OS. I tried
all the free debuggers for windows, and none of them work on my system
(windows 98, running the abyss webserver). Some just give a fatal error,
some just don't seem to do anything at all. So if you can write a
debugger that shjould run on my system, I'd bee happy to test it.

On a windows XP machine, I got xdebug (see http://www.xdebug.org/) to
work, but its client is not exactly workable, because you need to type
an entire command for everything you want of the debugger (step in, step
over, see variables, etc).
xdebug uses a debugging protocol, which may be something worth looking at.

Best regards.
