i'm not certain what is causing the following problem. i'm using apache and
have created an alias similar to:

blah.example.com

i can pull up this site just fine by typing the address in the browser.
however, the site generates an email with a clickable link like:

http://blah.example.com/?userName=jblow&passport=abcdefg

and, when i click this link from within the email, my browser opens and
shows a standard 404 error (not found). if i open a browser window manually
and paste the link in, i get the same problem. in the same browser session,
if i simply try blah.example.com after the 404 error, i continue to get a
404 error. however, if i open a new browser window and try just using
blah.example.com again, the site pulls up just fine.

i'm wondering if this is an issue with my apache config or if this is
something related to my browser...which is ie 7.

anyone encounter this before or have a better idea of what i should be
checking for?

tia,

me
