the apparent problem is the 800K of data... (I don't think his server
supports URLs of that length) if he was to store the
image in a php $_SESSION then he could use a shorter URL.

Serving the image as type application/octet-stream instead of
image/png would allow saving too (actually, it'd open the save dialogue).
dunno if that'd cause problems for mac users
