the Apache is alright, becoz the php codes itself really need 12M at
runtime, e.g. using some heavy libraries, e.g. AdoDB, Smarty, ....

my concern is not abt reducing the code size,

I would like to know:

will fastcgi help in these kind of setup?

thanks.
