Setup problems are always difficult, not the least without knowledge about
the machine.
Not that I really have any ideas, but maybe you could give some more
information:
1) What operating system?
2) Do have any previous instances of SQL Server on the machine? If so,
which editions and versions?
3) What is the name of the computer?
4) Have you renamed the machine during its lifetime?
Maybe you could attach the log file?
