I have recently installed 32 bit SQL Server 2005 Standard on a 64 bit
Windows 2003 Enterprise server - running with 12gb of RAM.

The spec sheet says that Standard edition will support whatever memory
the OS will support.(http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/features/
compare-features.mspx). Other notes in books online seem to contradict
this. So...

- What should the 32 bit standard edition support in this config? A
limited amount (e.g. 4gb) with AWE enabled, or all the spare memory we
have (e.g. 10Gb) ?

- If we use the 64 bit standard edition (which we probably should do
anyway), does that help us get better use of memory? e.g. by not
having to using the AWE implementation, just straight addressing?
