 By the way, I've tried to follow the advice on this page:
 
 http://us2.php.net/features.safe-mode
 
 I added this line:
 
 php_admin_value open_basedir none
 
 to my httpd.conf file and then I restarted Apache. No dice. Still got
 the same problem.
