Running OS/X, PHP 5.2.1 compiled from source. Trying to run Gallery2 -
getting the error

Error: your PHP __FILE__ directive is not functioning correctly.
Please file a support request with your webserver administrator or in
the Gallery forums.

Googling isn't helping much.
http://codex.gallery2.org/Gallery2:FAQ#PHP___FILE___directive_is_not_working_correctly.2C_what_can_I_do.3F

says
In most cases, you can fix the problem by convincing your webhost to
upgrade the PHP version.
(I am the webhost, and I am on the latest PHP version).

For some rare platforms, the bug still exists in the latest PHP
version. In this case you need to file a bug report for PHP such that
the bug gets fixed for that platform too. E.g. PHP 4.4.4 on SunOS 5.8
returns the filename without any path if any of the parent folders of
your Gallery folder is not readable by the webserver user.

This is compiled from source.

Is it possible I have another php?

which php tells me
/usr/local/bin/php

and php -v tells me 5.2.1 .

Maybe.. I don't know the command, but is there a way to locate 'php'
in my $path?

I know locate php, but that finds phpfile, filewithphpinthemiddle,
etc..

How about a way to look for 'php' - not 'filewithphpinit' if that
makes sense?

Or am I missing something?

Thanks.
