This is not a help desk, it's a Usenet discussion group. No one here is
under any obligation to give you the answer you seek. It is not unusual
for questions by newbies to result in discussions of any merits (or lack
thereof) related to the original query. Getting sidetracked is not
uncommon, either. If you don't like it, you can go elsewhere.

If you are genuinely interested in learning, not just getting a quick
answer to some fool "problem" then ducking out like most google groupers
do these days, don't expect to have *your* ego stroked. Just don't take
 things so personally.

This is an international group. It is considered rude to pick on English
spelling and grammar errors, since English is not native to many posters
 here, including some regulars.

Shall I point out the errors in the sentence below? ;)

You aren't expected to be an expert when you first start out, but you
are expected to do some homework on your own, and learn a little
netiquette. Lurk in the group for a while before posting, and use google
groups for the only thing it's really good for - searching the archives
to try and find your own answers.
