Me too... it's really really simplified, which is great if you want to
hack something together in a hurry, but for application development you
simply start hitting walls 5 minutes after starting. But I guess it
depends what you want, I really do like some elements of SM interface,
so maybe for someone not interested in coding for the AVM it's better.
But now that Flash CS3 has the new UI, I really love it. I used to find
Flash so clunky, but the new UI makes it so much easier to get around.
Anyway, I'd not recommend anyone even touches SwishMax until it gets AS3
support (it's basically dead in the water until it comes out of beta),
and even then if you want to do more than animate a few bits and pieces,
do yourself a big favor and learn how to code from scratch in
DreamWeaver CS3 or Flash CS3 with ActionScript 3.
