That's putting it mildly. ;)

If Adobe put some amount of control in the user's hands over the area of
zoom or the degree of zoom, it might actually be a useful feature. But
alas, no. Besides, zooming is another function that the developer has to
allow before it will happen at all. That's just wrong.
