I posted a few weeks back about open source code editor programs similar
to ultraedit which I had grown used to and loved in windows.

Geany does the same job if not better for me, which I pulled off the
universe repository for ubuntu. I wanted to follow up in case anyone else
also made the switch over. Installing a lamp stack was 100x easier without
having to resort to a xampp type setup.
