86,400 (sec/day) /
16,667 (hits/day) =
5.814 (hits/sec)

sorry for the garble on the previous post. ;)

now, at 16,667 hits per day, what would be your length of time you would
consider to be between startPeak and endPeak? cuz, now matter how you break
it down, you still end up with very small numbers of hits per
second...unless you say your peak is 60 seconds long.
