I use my ThinkPad for software development. I've got one disk with
WinXP Professional and one with Solaris 10. Both do fine.

Win95 is EOL'd. You can't get security patches for it anymore as far
as I know. Upgrade to at LEAST win2k. It'll still run on your slow
laptop. It won't be fast, but it will work. Ignore the crap about
not using a laptop and not using AMD, both are lies.
