You can't be serious. People actually listen to those assholes? And
you're wanting to do software development?
OK Lesson #1. NEVER EVER EVER EVER trust a salesperson. EVER. If he
starts talking about something you don't understand fully, demand to
see facts backing up what he/she is saying. As others have pointed
out, 99% of what he told you is utter bullshit, and easily proven as
such.
Lesson #2. NEVER EVER EVER EVER buy a computer from a chain store
like CompUSA or Best Buy or Circuit City. Buy a Dell if you have to,
but put together your own machine if you can. It's not rocket
science, and forgive me for saying so, but I think you could use the
technical experience.
Lesson #3. Windows 95? Seriously? No, seriously? What are you
thinking? If you want to re-use an old machine then download Linux or
*BSD and use that without the X Windows system.
If, however, my suspicions are true, and you're just a troll, then
please jump off a bridge.
