Why do you think you need to use relative positioning for this at all?
Do you really understand what the different positioning methods are
*supposed* to do? I suspect not.

That should not be the case at all. If it is, then something in your
design is probably broken. I glanced at your CSS but it is too hard to
read. Getting rid of all the redundant styles, like font-family, would
be a good place to start. Your stylesheet would also be more readable if
you applied some formatting to it.
