rf: my question was two sentences long. If you take the
second sentence out of context, it is not very acute.
*BUT* I know what you are saying. It is desirable for
posters to refrain from obtuse pointless questions.

I think I know what is happening.
If the firefox browser does not recognize
face=roman or face=times or any other non
recognizable face, it defaults to Times
New Roman.

Now my question is: Is it possible to change
the *default* font?

OBTW rf is correct. One cannot nest fonts.
