You might try Crimson Editor <http://www.crimsoneditor.com/> which is
a text editor that adds syntax highlighting for HTML, CSS, and many
other languages.

Agreed. One of my earliest mistakes was ignoring CSS as that weird
optional stuff in the back of the book. You're on a better path.
