it doesn't validate with xhtml 1.0 transitional

if you are using flash and xhtml, afaik you don't need to use embed
....
eg. flash satay method
<object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" title="Walla Walla Web
Design" data="flash/z.swf?path=flash/walla_walla_web_design.swf"
width="x" height="y">
<param name="movie"
value="flash/z.swf?path=flash/walla_walla_web_design.swf" /><param
name="bgcolor" value="#000000" /> //and any other valid params you
want
//z.swf is a very small container movie which helps the main movie
stream consistently in IE ... script is onFrame (1) {
_root.loadMovieNum(_root.path,0);
}
<a href="inside.php" title="Walla Walla Web Design"><img alt="Walla
Walla Web Design" src="images/walla_walla_web_design.jpg"
style="width:xpx;height:ypx;border:0" /></a> //or any content you want
for non-flash browsers and search engines
</object>
