you can use the ftp facility of IE...
ftp://username:password@ftp.examples.com
download them and upload them....microsoft gives u all the freedom.
but yes...your changes can be rewritten by someone else upload to the
same file after u.

if u need a more systematic and automated program, you need to hire a
programmer. the programmer will be help u maintain version control. that
means that All changes made by you and your staff will be both
maintained irrespective of who loads first. the software will also
provide u with some level of security
you can also try 'wiki' software. it is software whereby you can have
online documents that can be edited by all members of the organisation.
