I use the following scoring in 40tude:

!delete Xpost %>5
!delete xref "alt.2600"
!delete xref "alt.usenet.kooks"
!delete xref "alt.fan.art-bell"
!delete xref "alt.alien.vampire.flonk.flonk.flonk"

It cuts out 99% of the crap so far.
