| my statement was basically that programmer will be more efficient with
| technology that he knows and likes to use, than with more advanced
| technology that he does not understand and/or like.
lol...do you not see how what the above communicates is *completely*
different than:
"it is well known that any technology no matter how superior in theory, if
used in anger is inferior to any technology used in good will."
while i completely agree with the former, i whole-heartily hold the latter
with great distain as it is rot with logical fallacy. and even with the
former, there is a logical exclusion of effective success which doesn't
require the same familiarity of said technology as does efficientcy...and my
complete agreement is likewise only limited to the scope of efficientcy and
in no way implies a case/argument for the broke-don't-fix mentality...lest
we be the most efficient manufacturers of model-T's while the rest of the
world is about building hybrids.
and as for:
"And I can assure that my 25+ years of experience in the field support that
statement very well."
thank you for sharing the logical fallacy of argumentum ad verecundiam. but
given you wanten disregard for logic in the language of english, it is
reasonable for me to begin to assume that perhaps your programming endeavors
suffer the same fate and discloses itself as "bugs" or
"anomolies"...language is language after all.
