In the Opera Transfer window, click the "View" button and unselect "Show
transfers when starting download". You can choose instead to have the
Transfers window appear in the background, or not automatically appear at
all.

If you're downloading a lot of files, try using the "Quick Download"
feature which downloads files without prompting you where to save them.
(You might want to check your Preferences first to make sure that Quick
Download will put them somewhere sane.)

Also, look at the Links panel, which brings up a list of all links on the
current page. You can highlight several links using Shift or Ctrl
clicking, right click and then "Quick Download" them all.
